SparkMove Privacy Policy
Short version: SparkMove has no backend server, no accounts beyond your own iCloud account, no analytics, and no advertising. Your workout and buddy data syncs across your own devices through Apple's iCloud — we never receive, see, or store it ourselves. If you join a Training Circle, some activity stats become visible to people you've explicitly invited.
What data the app handles, and where it lives
- Buddy, workout, and program data (points, streaks, saved programs, activity history, gear) is stored using Apple's CloudKit, tied to your own iCloud account, and synced directly between your iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple's infrastructure — not through any server we operate, because we don't operate one.
- Health and fitness data (heart rate, workout sessions, step count), read from Apple Health with your permission, is used only to power SparkMove's live workout stats, history, and reports. It is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose beyond providing SparkMove's own fitness features — in line with Apple's HealthKit developer terms.
- Location data is used only while you're actively running or walking with GPS tracking on, to draw your route and calculate distance and pace. It's stored the same way as other workout data — via your own iCloud account, not a server of ours.
- Subscription and cosmetic purchases (Trainer Pass, Buddy skins) are handled entirely by Apple's App Store through StoreKit. We never receive, see, or store your payment details — only confirmation of what you've purchased.
Training Circle sharing
If you create or join a Training Circle, certain activity summaries — your points contribution, streaks, category, and buddy identity — are shared with the other members of that Circle via Apple's CloudKit sharing. This is visible only to people you've explicitly invited or who invited you. We do not have access to this shared data ourselves; it's a direct connection between Circle members, brokered entirely by Apple's infrastructure.
What we don't do
- No account creation or login beyond your existing iCloud account — nothing separate to sign up for.
- No analytics SDKs or third-party tracking libraries are included in the app.
- No advertising, and no ad networks are integrated.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, because we do not collect it ourselves in the first place.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Children's privacy
SparkMove is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and revise the effective date above.
