Common questions
- Import didn't pick up the right ingredients or steps. Import quality depends on the source — recipe websites with structured data usually come through cleanly, while Instagram/TikTok/Facebook shares and scanned photos are rougher. Everything is editable on the confirm screen before it saves, and after saving from the dish's edit button.
- Sharing from another app doesn't seem to do anything. After tapping Share → Kitchenspin from Instagram/TikTok/Facebook/Safari, give it a moment — it copies the link over and opens Kitchenspin automatically to finish the import.
- I deleted the app and lost my saved dishes. Kitchenspin currently stores everything only on your device — deleting the app deletes that data too. iCloud sync (so your collection survives reinstalls and follows you across devices) is planned for a future update.
- The OCR photo scan misread some text. Photo scanning works best on clear, well-lit printed text (menus, recipe cards, cookbook pages) — handwriting isn't reliably supported. You can always fix any misread text before saving.
